When you have children your whole world shifts, you're suddenly very much where you live. The places like the local cafe where you can breastfeed, or the library where they don't mind your children running around, or the park.

And it's really only at that point you can see your community. It changes the impersonal into personal. It spurred me to get involved in politics - seeing the importance of those things.
