My school life was a massive influence. I was 11 when Stephen Lawrence was murdered. It was about a mile from my primary school. Learning and processing about racism and inequality was a huge part of my childhood.

The loss of Stephen Lawrence shaped my borough forever. That feeds in to me, as a custodian of the borough. We can never allow the Far Right to come back into this community and exploit communty tensions. That's the thing I'm most worried about, if we start to see mass rises in unemployment.
