I’ve always been interested in politics. My degree was in history and that’s just a chronology of politics, or the study of the impact of politics on the lives of people. So, there was always an interest in politics but no real clue as how you get into politics. I got a job in the civil service, which seemed the most structured route into policy, and I absolutely loved that.
